Taste This mixed by Amore: of Intlx Productions
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
TASTE THIS! MAYA AZUCENA'S FIRST OFFICIAL MIX CD
Maya Azucena's first official Mix CD, TASTE THIS!, sponsored by AllHipHop.com, Intlx Productions, Luka Brazzi and Foundation Media, finally hits your computer in its recent promotional digital release. Mixed by Amore (of Intlx Productions), the CD has 16 songs, ten of which are brand new, never before released singles. Taste This! was created especially for Maya's HipHop and DJ fans. She wanted to give them something to bop their heads to — a suitable follow up to her acoustic-based Purpose Records release of last year, Junkyard Jewel. Maya states, "I want my DJs and HipHop-heads to have some material they can support on their shows and at clubs."
A critically acclaimed singer and songwriter, Maya Azucena has made her way around the globe as an independent force. Her vocals have been compared to Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack, and Ella Fitzgerald. Her spirit has joined her to artists with meaning in all genres. She has been favorably reviewed in Billboard, Washington Post, Village Voice, NY Post, Recording Magazine, and more, both nationally and internationally: from Croatia and China, to Amsterdam and Sri Lanka. She was named by AllHipHop.com as Best Alternative Artist of the Year in 'o6 and has been nominated 2 years in a row as Best Female Vocalist of the Year at the world's largest soul website: SoulTracks.com.
In the grassroots and HipHop world, Maya has upcoming releases with Immortal Technique, Cheeks (Lost Boyz), Dres (Black Sheep), Hasan Salaam, J. Bada (Intlx Productions), Doujah Raze, Torae and Supa Nova Slom, to name a few. Her recently past collabs have included Stephen Marley, A-Alikes, Pete Miser, Boot Camp Clik, Krumbsnatcha, Luquantumleap, and Black Panther (partial list).
Taste This! is a sliver of Maya Azucena's recent works, a journey into the different colors of her voice, and just a way for you to get a taste of something that makes ya head bop, and ya mouth water. Taste This! That's what we're trying to say.
